Ponziano (San). Spoletino young martyr (d. 175), which later became the patron saint of the city (January 14). The tomb of the martyr was surrounded by special reverence: the area became a cemetery of the early Christians, by the matron Sincleta which, in the tenth century, was said Sacred, as is attested by a group of sarcophagi, now preserved in crypts.
