La Ginestra a 30 hectare organic farm and holiday home, situated deep in the hills of Umbria, 650 metres above sea level, a protected area and home to rare plants and animals, 15 km from Gubbio, 27 km from Perugia, 30 km from Assisi.
For those who truly love nature and tranquillity there are plenty of rural activities including nature trails, mountain biking, , bicycle touring, trekking, bird watching, archery, swimming pool, walking.
La Ginestra which has been operative for 12 years, includes a principal dwelling dating back to the 19th century, a tower house and a cottage all restored in stone in their original architectural form.
We let fully equipped furnished flats (2 to 7 beds) with central heating (orthopaedic mattresses and bedsteads) with private garden, and bedrooms with bathroom and garden (2-5 beds) for weekends or on a weekly or monthly basis.
The prices include all incidental expenses such as: bed linen, towels, final cleaning, energy consumption, use of launderette, swimming pool, walks on natural paths.
Additional payment: central heating, archery and mountain bike for hire.
Organic breakfast ( fresh kamut-spelt-bread, spelt-kamut and wheat cakes, honey, a choice of natural jams, butter, milk, coffee, tea, fruit juice, yoghurt ) € 8 daily per person.
Organic vegetarian cooking on request
For meals we have too an agreement with local inns and restaurants (1 km) that offer organic cooking as well as typical food from the area (mushrooms, truffles, game, barbecued meat, etc.) and prices vary from € 13 to € 25 per person per meal.
The organic farm "La Ginestra" follows organic methods of cultivation and is checked and certified by AIAB-Umbria. The farm produces: hay, cereals (spelt, wheat), legumes (lentils, field beans, chickpeas), olive oil, vegetables, jams, honey, Kamut-spelt-bread. It is possible to buy fresh and preserved organic products from the farm, or from other organic farms in the region.

In the area it is possible to follow:

ROUTE TO FOLLOW:
1) Motorway Firenze/Roma: Take the Valdichiana exit (if coming from the north) or take the Orte exit (if coming from the south) and then the throughroad for Perugia, continue towards Cesena, take the Ponte Pattoli exit.
2) Motorway Bologna/Ancona: Take the Cesena exit (if coming from the north) and then the E45 expressway towards Perugia/Roma. Take the Ponte Pattoli exit - before Perugia.
Follow signs to Casa del diavolo. At the village crossroad continue straight to S. Cristina - 7 km away; 1,5 km after “La Dolce Vita” restaurant turn left towards “La Ginestra”. Stay on the dirt road for about 3,5 km following signs to “La Ginestra”.
3) Motorway Ancona/Bologna: Turn off at Fano (if coming from the south) and take the expressway towards Perugia/Roma. Before you get to Perugia, take a right turn (on the Gubbio/Perugia main road) signposted S. Cristina. Continue straight through until you see “La Ginestra” sign. Turn right and stay on the dirt road for about 3,5 km, following signs to “La Ginestra”.
